Adult cricket in Sutton: new and returning players welcome at Cheam for 2027

Thinking of picking up a bat or ball again? The winter is the best time to make contact. Here is how adults can get started with Cheam Cricket Club ahead of the 2027 season.

Cricket in Sutton is not only for juniors. Cheam Cricket Club has been playing at Peaches Close since 1864, and our senior section welcomes new players at every level. Whether you want to play every week or are coming back to the game after a few years, there is a place for you.

Not sure where you would fit? Saturday league places are chosen on form and availability, while Sunday cricket is relaxed and open to all members. Plenty of people start on a Sunday, rediscover their love of the game, and go from there.

The easiest first step is to come along to training. Adult outdoor nets run on Thursdays at 6pm until dusk at Peaches Close through the summer season. New playing members are welcome to join in. If you would rather start sooner, indoor winter nets traditionally begin in January. Dates, venue and prices to be confirmed, and announced closer to the time on the club's social media.

To get in touch, email the Club Secretary at secretary@cheamcricketclub.co.uk with a short introduction, or register your interest through the online form on our senior cricket page, choosing January nets, the 2027 season, or both. The club will then invite you along to a net session.

Adult membership for the 2027 season is £200.
