Chairman's Welcome

Welcome to the Junior Section of Cheam Cricket Club.

Our club is built around a simple idea: cricket should be open to everyone.
We welcome children from all backgrounds and abilities, whether they are picking up a bat for the first time or already passionate about the game.

For some young players, cricket becomes something they want to pursue seriously and develop as far as they can. Others simply want to play sport, make friends and enjoy being part of a team.
At Cheam, both journeys are equally important. Our aim is to provide an environment where every child can enjoy cricket while developing confidence, teamwork and a lifelong love of sport.

We are particularly proud of our focus on developing home-grown players. Watching juniors progress through the age groups and eventually move into adult cricket is one of the most rewarding parts of the club. We work hard to ensure that talented young players are introduced to senior cricket in a gradual, supported and mentored way.

Alongside this, our Academy programmes provide opportunities for players who want to push their cricket further. Through these programmes we have developed a strong track record of preparing players to trial for the Surrey pathway, while ensuring that enjoyment of the game always remains at the heart of what we do.

Cheam is also very much a family club. Parents and families play an important role in the life of the club, and many of the friendships formed here continue for years as children grow up playing together.

What brings everyone together at Cheam is a shared love of cricket – or simply a curiosity and eagerness to learn the game.
Through sport we build friendships, develop understanding and create a welcoming community for all.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family to Cheam Cricket Club
