Free cricket fun pack for children in Sutton: Willow and Cherry Issue 2 is out
Our two cartoon cricketers are back for October with a comic-strip rematch, a colouring page, a maze and a word search. It is free to download and print at home.
Cheam Cricket Club's free activity pack for young cricketers, Willow and Cherry, is back for October. Issue 2 follows September's first edition, and both are ready to download from our Fun Pack page: https://www.cheamcricketclub.com/funpack
What's inside
Issue 2 runs to six pages. Half of it is a three-part comic strip, "The Tuesday Night Rematch". Last month Cherry won, and this time Willow wants revenge. There is a race to training, a "super-spinner" secret weapon and one very big hit, and we won't spoil who comes out on top.
The other three pages are for colouring, puzzling and searching: a colouring page of Willow and Cherry (club colours suggested, but any colours welcome); the Great Pitch Maze, where you help the pair find their way to the stumps; and a cricket word search with 14 words to find, from BOUNDARY and SPINNER to SUTTON and CHEAM.
It is free, there is nothing to sign up for, and it prints at home on ordinary paper. It is just the thing for a wet afternoon, a half-term morning, or keeping a younger brother or sister busy while an older one trains.
Why we make it
Cricket doesn't disappear when the summer does. Willow and Cherry is a small, friendly way of keeping the game in children's heads through the winter, and of introducing it to children who haven't picked up a bat yet. If your child enjoys it, please pass it on to a friend.
Fancy the real thing?
Willow and Cherry train on a Tuesday night, and so can your child. Our winter training runs every Tuesday until 8 December, including half term on Tuesday 27 October. Children in school years 3 to 6 play indoor softball cricket from 6.10pm to 7.30pm, with all equipment provided. School years 7 to 11 train from 7.40pm to 9pm, and some sessions use a hard ball. Boys and girls train together, there is no minimum standard, and sessions are led by ECB-qualified coaches at Overton Grange School on Stanley Road, Sutton.

All the dates, times and prices are on our Winter Programme page: https://www.cheamcricketclub.com/winter-program
So download Issue 2, sharpen the colouring pencils, and if Willow and Cherry give your child the cricket bug, we would love to see you on a Tuesday.
